Industry Members Network Day 2022

The Industry Members Network Day, hosted by Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR) on November 30, 2022, was a resounding success, with over 180 attendees from both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and multinational corporations (MNCs) gathering at IMR’s Advanced Manufacturing facility in Mullingar. The day provided a platform for industry members to share their stories and experiences on their transformation journeys, and to openly discuss diverse topics and technologies with their peers.

The day’s schedule was packed with 12 technology workshops, allowing attendees to explore examples of what has worked, what hasn’t, and the challenges and benefits of various areas of technology. From additive manufacturing and creating digital workflows to AI and machine vision, planning and scheduling using AI, and making factories smarter with the Internet of Things (IIoT), there was something for everyone.

In addition to the technology workshops, there were also four thematic workshops on collaborative funding, both at the EU and national level. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about what funding is available, how to apply, and ask questions of funding experts.

Other topics covered included digitisation as an enabler of circularity, decarbonizing thermal energy, water management and optimization, XR implementations for increased productivity, and derisking automation challenges through collaborative R&D.

Overall, the Industry Members Network Day provided a valuable opportunity for industry members to connect and learn from one another, and to gain insights into the latest technologies and funding opportunities.
