03 Oct Focus on Precision Engineering at Networking Event
Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR), in association with the PTMA, successfully hosted the second annual Precision Engineering Networking Event on September 28th at IMR’s Mullingar site. This event, which is set to become an annual tradition, witnessed a significant turnout with 83 attendees including representation from 38 distinct precision engineering companies.
The event was graced by esteemed speakers who shared valuable insights into topics pertinent to the industry. Paul Byrnes from Maverick enlightened the audience on CNC Machine utilisation and energy monitoring, while Donal Galligan of Takumi delved into their lean journey which resulted in the development of MADO MES for Precision Engineering. Chris Judge from IMR discussed the organisation’s ongoing research and training initiatives. Furthermore, Tom Kelly from Enterprise Ireland provided an overview of capital funding opportunities available for companies in the sector.
A special note of thanks is extended to our partners – Starrag, Hexagon, Hypermill, Mills CNC, Haimer, Hardmetal, and Hi-tech Tooling – who played a crucial role in the event by showcasing technology demonstrations. Their contributions significantly enhanced the event’s appeal, providing attendees with the opportunity to explore new technologies and engage in live cutting demonstrations.
The Precision Engineering Networking Event is an open invitation to all companies in the sector aiming to advance their operations. It offers a unique opportunity for learning and collaboration, allowing companies to engage with peers, explore innovative technologies, and participate in collaborative R&D activities with IMR and other industry partners.
This event not only provided a forum for networking and discussion but also highlighted the promising future of Irish Precision Engineering. With the success of this year’s event, we eagerly anticipate the continued growth and innovation that will undoubtedly be showcased in future editions of this annual gathering.
