IMR’s Digital CNC Platform

IMR has recently received delivery of their latest piece of technology, a Fanuc αD21LiB5 Robodrill. The machine is a state of the art three-axis high-speed machining center fitted with a 24K BBT30 spindle, Fanuc 31i B5 controller, Renishaw’s OPM40 probing system and OTS optical tool setting capabilities.

Combined with IMRs capability, an infrastructure of sensors and data analytics, the machine will be used to develop out a digital CNC platform. This digital platform will demonstrate how Industry 4.0 technology can be realized within precision engineering companies to drive improvements in the areas of predictive maintenance, tool condition monitoring, intelligent scheduling, part inspection and much more.
