The Green Awards 2024 ceremony was held on February 27, 2024, at the Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road. Launched in 2008, the Green Awards recognise the contribution and commitment that companies make towards growing a greener future in Irish business. The ceremony was attended by approximately 800 people, including Minister Eamon Ryan, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, and Minister for Transport.

At this year’s ceremony, Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR) was in the spotlight, with its Sustainable Manufacturing team being a finalist for the prestigious Sustainable Team of the Year award. Sponsored by Skillnet Climate Ready Academy, this recognition highlights IMR’s dedication to fostering innovative approaches in sustainable manufacturing, aligning with the broader goal of achieving a net-zero transition.

The Sustainable Team of the Year award celebrates teams within organisations of 50 or more employees that demonstrate exceptional teamwork and creativity in addressing environmental challenges. Congratulations to the winners on the night, Breedon Ireland and to all the finalists, including Alkermes Pharma Ireland, APC and VLE Therapeutics, Codex – Green Earthlings Team, Ethos Engineering, Eversheds Sutherland, Mason Hayes and Curran, Midlands Park Hotel, and Wisetek.

IMR extends heartfelt congratulations to Wyeth Nutritionals Ireland for winning The Sustainable Water Achievement Award, a category especially significant to IMR as it supports Wyeth’s sustainability endeavours. Congratulations also go to CIRCULÉIRE member Wisetek, who clinched The Excellence in Waste Management Award. CIRCULÉIRE is a public-private partnership created by Irish Manufacturing Research and the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and EIT Climate-KIC with 25 Founding Industry Members.

Additionally, IMR commends IES and Dublin City Council for receiving The Green Collaboration Award, recognising their exemplary partnership in sustainability. IMR is currently also collaborating with IES in the H2020 iBECOME project.

The Green Awards 2024 not only celebrated individual and team successes but also reinforced the collective commitment within the Irish industry to embrace sustainability. IMR is proud to be at the forefront of this movement, continuously striving to innovate and contribute to Ireland’s environmental goals.
