Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy
The Governments recent publication of the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy for Ireland is a significant moment in Ireland’s digital manufacturing transformation, strengthening Irish Manufacturing Research’s (IMR) approach to AI within industry. With the strategy’s emphasis on support mechanisms and collaboration between research and enterprise, IMR will continue to enable both the adoption and deployment of AI among Irish manufacturing multinational and SME companies into the future.
IMRs Data Analytics group currently have over €6M worth of active AI projects across a range of manufacturing companies and sectors. The IMR Data Analytics group has capabilities in technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics. Moreover, IMRs strong affiliation with Irish manufacturing combined with its focus on impact and delivery of AI applications to real-world business problems puts IMR firmly at the leading edge of AI deployment in Ireland.
IMR´s approach to AI is hands-on, working with companies to understand and implement AI solutions tailored to real needs. This can be done via technology demonstrators in our laboratory at Mullingar, via vouchers to explore an initial AI-based approach to a given challenge, or benefiting from the funding and contacts in an Irish or European R&D project.
Carlos Garcia, a Senior Technologist in IMR’s Data Analytics group, recently presented at an IMR webinar on AI in Action: Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing.
