Building Virtual Robot Working Environment

Measurement Aided Assembly of Large-scale structures (MAAS) is a 2–year project funded by Smart Eureka and supported by Enterprise Ireland (EI) and the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI). The project aims to evaluate the use of collaborative robots and related automated activities within manufacturing, assembly, and inspection operations.

Real world <-> Simulation
In response to the introduction of COVID-19 restrictions, IMR transitioned the development of a solution for robotic scanning of large structures to a virtual environment. The simulated environment enabled IMR to continue advancing the system architecture, hardware integration, and software logic.
