About Prof. Seán McLoone
Director EPIC, Queens University Belfast
Seán is currently Director of Research for the Energy Power and Intelligent Control Research Cluster in the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Prof. McLoone returned to Queen’s in January 2013 having spent the previous 10 years at the Department of Electronic Engineering in NUI Maynooth, where he served as Senior Lecturer and Head of Department. His research activities to date have been supported by funding from a range of sources including SFI, Enterprise Ireland, EPSRC, FP7 (Europe) and industry. At a professional level, Prof. McLoone is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET), a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and a Past Chairman of the UK and Republic of Ireland Section of IEEE.
