The autonomous KMR iiwa robot is HRC capable and mobile. The mobile manipulator system comprises a omni-directional mobile base and a 7 degree of freedom lightweight arm. It combines the strengths of the sensitive LBR iiwa with those of a mobile platform. The robot is location independent and highly flexible, thus the perfect basis for meeting the requirements of Industriy 4.0.
The robot is used in two ongoing projects at IMR. First, to transfer material between assembly stations in a demonstration of a flexible assembly line. Secondly, as a fixed robot working side by side with a human to increase the efficiency of an assembly task.
