What it is
The Doosan Puma 2600SY II is an advanced 10” chuck box-way style multi-tasking machine with an 81mm bar diameter capacity and is equipped with built-in spindles (up to 22kW/4000rpm). The machine features a 105mm (+/- 52.5mm) Y-axis, sophisticated thermal (heat sensor) control technology, and Fanuc Doosan-i control. The machine is fitted with Hainbuch Axfix precision chucks.
The machine is also fitted with a servo-driven Hydrafeed MSV80 servo short magazine barfeed system
What it’s used for in IMR
The Doosan Puma is used to demonstrate the latest technology in the machining of precision components from various sectors across general engineering, aerospace, and MedTech. The machine is used as a testbed for projects relating to areas such as cutting tool condition monitoring and automation.
