What it is
The DN Solutions SMX 2600ST is a high-performance Multi-Axis Mill Turn Machine. The machine has the following configuration:
- Nine Axis
- 12 station turret
- 0.0001 Deg control on B-axis
- Thermal displacement of spindle and axis through optimised cooling solution.
- C6 Spindle interface.
What is it used for in IMR
The SMX machine in currently being used for product and proceed development. It is also used for testing out CADCAM software capabilities. The machine is used to demonstrate the latest technology in the machining of precision components from various sectors across general engineering, aerospace, and MedTech. The machine is used as a testbed for projects relating to areas such as cutting tool condition monitoring and automation.
