25 Feb STEPS Engineers Week 2021
IMR will join the celebration of STEPS Engineers Week 2021 taking place online from Saturday, 27th February until Friday, 5th of March. The team at IMR have developed a series of activities to celebrate the world of engineering and show students the impact it can have in our daily lives. Below you will find information for each of the activities and the steps to register to take part in them.
- Engineering Challenge!
- – Where: Online
- – When: Available from the 1st of March until the 8th of March.
- – Suitable for primary students
Primary students will be taking part in an online engineering challenge where they will be challenged to use the Design Thinking Methodology. This methodology is an interactive process and solution-based approach to solving a problem. It consists of 5 stages: Empathise, Define, Create, Test & Improve. Each student will be given a task, a budget, and rules to complete this challenge. If you would like your students to take part in this challenge, please fill out this form.

- – Where: IMR & I-Form YouTube channels
- – When: Monday 1st of March
- – Suitable for secondary students
IMR and I-Form partnered to host a webinar with five engineers working in different fields in manufacturing including collaborative robots, 3D printing, augmented and virtual reality and data science. Listen to them talking about their work, how they got there and what they like the most about it! Get first-hand insights into being an engineer working in manufacturing. Subscribe to our YouTube channel and I-Form’s YouTube channel and check them out on Monday to find out about the careers in Engineering & Manufacturing. After watching the webinar we invite students to write down 3 unexpected things they learned from it!

Secondary students will be taking part in an Engineering quiz. This Engineering quiz will be tailored to daily engineering facts that will be a real eye-opener to students in the who, what, when and how engineers work. The students will be given a task at the end of this quiz to complete a sculpture using certain materials in the best to hold itself up. Students will also be using the Design Thinking Methodology and incorporating the 5 stages. If you would like your students to take part in this challenge, please fill out this form.
